Mozambique Elections: Chapo confirms presence at presidential candidate meeting

President Nyusi yesterday appointed Rosário Bernardo Francisco Fernandes President of the National Institute of Statistics.
Rosário Fernandes served as Chairman of the Mozambique Tax Authority until September 2015, and replaces Maria Isaltina Lucas, who was appointed last March to the post of Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.
Fernandes’ appointment is sanctioned under powers conferred by Article 9 of the Organic Statute of the National Institute of Statistics, approved by Presidential Decree 09/96 of 28 August.
In another order, the head of state named Mozambican economist Ragendra Berta De Sousa Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
