Mozambique: President pledges to broaden dialogue in bid to end post-poll crisis - Watch
The Mozambican president, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi appointed yesterday general Júlio Jane, to the post of Commander General of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM).
The appointment of the new strongman ahead of PRM was announced through a press release from the Presidency of the Republic, cited by Folha de Maputo.
The new commander general of PRM Júlio Jane comes from the military and was Commander of the Civic Service of Mozambique in the Mozambican Armed Forces, eports Notícias, a post from which he was dismissed by another presidential order.
Jane now replaces Jorge Khalau dismissed yesterday after serving more than seven years as General Commander of PRM. He takes office today, Friday, February 4 2016.
