Mozambique’s head of state, Filipe Nyusi, has appointed Omar Mithá, former chairman of the Mozambican oil company, to the position of adviser to the President of the Republic, a statement from the presidency announced yesterday.
Omar Mithá was chairman of the National Hydrocarbon Company (ENH) for the past five years, having been replaced in January this year by Estêvão Pale.
A graduate in Economics from the Eduardo Mondlane University and with a postgraduate degree from the University Institute of Lisbon ISCTE, Mithá rose through the Millennium BIM bank before taking office in 2015 as Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, a post he held for a few months before being appointed ENH chairman
In a separate Presidential Order, the Mozambican Head of State yesterday appointed Marla Cristina Paulo Dava to the post of Director of the Office of the Wife of the President of the Republic.
