Nyusi announces that US$500 million were made available for the Temane-Maputo power line

President Nyusi has declared that the funds needed to install the projected electricity transmission line between Temane and Maputo are available.
According to the Head of State, cooperation partners responded satisfactorily to the government’s request by making US$500 million available for the construction of the power line.
Speaking on Monday at the inauguration of the Namialo power substation in Nampula province, President Nyusi said: “This Maputo-Temane [power] line will provide greater energy supply security for projects in Inhambane, Gaza and Maputo provinces, and even in Maputo – where there is more energy, but still not enough. We have to build more, because the factories in Maputo province are numerous and bring in rates for us to construct roads and hospitals.”
