O País / Minister of Defence did not receive military equipment worth US$500 million
The Mozambican Ministry of Defence says it did not receive US$500 million related to the supply of military equipment.
The Kroll audit found divergences in the explanations given by the managers of Ematum, the Ministry of Defence and the company supposedly contracted to supply military equipment worth US$500 million.
Kroll auditors were unable to account for the sum, but asked by O País, the Defence Minister reiterated that the money did not go through his portfolio and neither did the ministry receive military equipment.
Ntumuke said that, for further explanation, society must wait for the results of the Attorney General’s ongoing work.
