The Norwegian ambassador, Anne Lene Dale, has said that Norway will continue to finance energy sector projects in the country, including generation, transport, rural electrification and technical assistance.
Dale said that the amount of support planned for this year is still being calculated and would be announced soon.
Electricity of Mozambique (EDM) calculates that, in donations alone, Norway has contributed US$120 million in the last 20 years. Several lines of credit to support energy projects in the country have also been made available over the last four decades.
The bigger part of donations was applied to rural electrification and technical assistance, EDM said.
The Norwegian ambassador was received by the President of the Republic, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, at the beginning of the month.
