A train driver from the Northern Development Corridor company became an instant hero when he managed to avoid a collision with a van.
The driver, at the controls of a train carrying nine hundred people, applied the brakes in time to avoided colliding with the van, which was immobilised on the railway line, bringing his train safely to a halt.
The Northern Development Corridor says that the incident took place in Niassa province’s Mississi administrative post, the driver’s skilful action saving lives and avoiding substantial damages to both local communities and development corridor infrastructure.
