The Mozambican Tax Authority in Niassa expects to collect more than 58.8 million meticais this year.
The amount represents an increase compared to last year, when the sector collected more than 52.2 million meticais.
The director-general of Mozambican Customs, Taura Tsama, provided the information in Lichinga this Wednesday during the patenting of 28 new Tax Authority officials.
He urged the newly patented officials to fight tax evasion, adding that he expected the patentees to be committed to collecting the planned revenues.
The patented employees in response committed themselves to doing everything possible to guarantee the fulfilment of the tasks entrusted to them.
