Approximately 13,500 young people in Niassa province are expected to be covered by the national military census which began today (January 3) in all of the Mozambican territory.
Young people born in 1999 and others under the age of 35 who have not yet served are liable for enrollment. The figure is 7.4 per cent higher than year, when about 12.500 young people were registered.
Spokesperson for the provincial Centre of Recruitment and Military Mobilization in Niassa, Edgar Munda, quoted by RM, said that 130 military census posts had been set up.
The military census campaign ends on 28 February.
