Mozambique: NGO says "selective" pardon contravenes constitutional principles

The minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, this Thursday received the official credentials of Severin Ritter Von Xylander, the new World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Mozambique.
Macamo used the occasion to laud the excellent relations existing between Mozambique and the WHO, and reiterated the Mozambican government’s interest in continuing to enjoy the organization as a privileged partner in national health care coverage.
The minister expressed satisfaction with the organisation’s activities in Mozambique, especially regarding the reduction of morbidity and mortality rates in the area of reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child and adolescent health.
Severin Ritter von Xylander is a pediatrician and public health expert from Germany working with the World Health Organization (WHO). He is a member of the German Society of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (DGKJ).
