Mozambique’s new passport entered service this Thursday, National Migration Service (SENAMI) spokesperson Celestino Matsinhe announced yesterday in Maputo.
It is similar in design to the previous one, but has enhanced security features, most noticeably a page made of polycarbonate, a chemical material where the holder’s biographical data is stored.
The new passport is being piloted in the capital and Maputo province, and will be extended progressively to all provincial Migration Directorates.
