Is a new LAM management model on the cards? – Maybe, says Minister Mesquita

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Carlos Mesquita, thinks that the way to achieve profitability at state-owned Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) may be to create a number of separate directorates.

“We are analyzing various proposals, and the existence of several directorates seems to be the most viable. There is also a proposal to find a partner, but everything is being evaluated and the objective is to make the company viable, because we do not want any company to be in a critical situation,” Mesquita said at a meeting yesterday taking stock of 2016 activities in the transport and communications sector and prospects for the current year
