A group of national companies will be showcasing the potential of the Mozambican market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next month, in the hope of exporting products to the Dubai market and attracting investment to Mozambique.
To this end, and against the backdrop of Expo Dubai, the world’s largest exhibition, the Foundation for the Improvement of the Business Environment (FAN), the Industrial Association of Mozambique (AIMO) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in Mozambique, are developing a commercial and institutional exploration initiative between the two geographies, by means of a Mozambique-Dubai Business Forum.
Several companies have been pre-selected to take projects with real potential to do business in the manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing, tourism and extractive industry sectors.
Strategically, from the point of view of both the national industrialization agenda and the appetite for foreign investment in the industrial sector, the Mozambican Industrial Association [AIMO] and Moz Parks joined the initiative as partners.

According to a communique from the organisation, the parties involved sought to further enrich the initiative by bringing in a strong partner from the national financial sector, whose focus is aligned with the overall objectives of the initiative and of the country – namely, investment in the productive sector and financial structuring with a focus on local business.
Banco Nacional de Investimento (BNI – National Investment Bank) fits this logic perfectly, the organisers considering it the ideal partner to represent the national financial sector.
According to the same source, the expectation is that the BNI will develop a commercial-financial relationship with the national companies that are taking their businesses and projects to the Forum.
With the support of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in Mozambique, the event is expected to host between 50 to 100 people interacting in intensive networking and business meetings aimed at attracting relevant stakeholders to the sectors that Mozambique is taking to Dubai.
