Road and rail traffic which was interrupted on Saturday (24-04) as a result of an accident involving a Nacala Logistics coal transport train and a freight truck in the city of Nampula, has been re-established.
The accident occurred at the level crossing near Natiquiri on the outskirts of Nampula, when a truck heading towards Cuamba hit a train travelling in the same direction.
The accident led to the derailment of nine wagons of the train and the total destruction of the truck. The driver of the vehicle is currently receiving medical care at the hospital in Nampula.
