Mozambique targets universal access to drinking water by 2029
Voa / A View of Cape Town
The governor of Nampula, Victor Borges, has floated the idea of twinning the cities of Nacala-Porto and Cape Town, South Africa, and later the provinces of South Africa’s Western Cape and Nampula.
Victor Borges visited the city and the Western Cape province and met Governor Helen Zille. The two discussed economic and social activities in their respective domains. In Cape Town, Victor Borges also visited a processing company that transforms brackish water into drinking water.
Western Cape province and the city of Cape Town have been governed by the Democratic Alliance, the largest opposition party in South Africa and political opponent of the ANC, for 17 years.
Governor Borges said he was not bothered by being the guest of opponents of the ANC, traditional South African allies of Frelimo, Borges’ political home party in Mozambique.
