More than 640 churches and mosques in the province of Nampula have resumed services, within the scope of the relaxation of Covid-19 prevention measures decreed by President Filipe Nyusi.
The director of the Provincial Service of Justice and Labour of Nampula, Cachimo Raúl, explained that the resumption of activities in places of worship followed inspection and monitoring by Health and National Inspection of Economic Activities personnel.
Raúl said that the multi-sectoral team had concluded that the places of worship fulfilled the required health protocols, and were now functioning normally, although some still did not have a thermometer for measuring body temperature.
The province of Nampula currently has 12,970 places of worship, spread across various confessions.
