Renamo leader Afonso Dhlakama says his party will certainly participate in the midterm elections in the municipality of Nampula, and is confident of victory.
“Renamo will run, and will win without difficulties,” Dhlakama said.
Dhlakama made these pronouncements following the approval by the Council of Ministers on Monday of interim elections in Nampula.
The government will now call on the National Election Commission to propose the date of the by-election, even though the fifth municipal elections in the country’s history are only a year away.
