Nacala Logistics is investing more than 10 million meticais training 275 Nampula families in areas with the potential to contribute to the development of the economy and the quality of life in Nampula province, the company has announced in a press release.
The focus is on improving communities’ food and nutrition security, diversifying family income and promoting entrepreneurship and employment.
The beneficiaries, who mostly reside in the Napipine and Namalate resettlement locations, will be acquiring skills and knowledge in cooking, sewing, hairdressing, carpentry, civil construction, auto mechanics, entrepreneurship and commerce, refrigeration techniques and the establishment and maintenance of terrariums.
The training programmes are designed to nurture new sources of income with the capacity to benefit not only the trainees, but also Nampula society in general.
The courses started on 10 June 2020 and will end on 4 March this year. The company believes that the training programmes will provide the province of Nampula with qualified professionals, who can also respond to the needs of neighbouring provinces.
Nacala Logistics will continue to invest in training as a way of contributing to the development of communities along the Nacala logistics corridor and of Mozambique in general.
Despite the impact of Covid-19 on the country’s economy, Nacala Logistics remains committed to promoting integrated development and supporting communities where it operates.
