MozYouth Foundation and FNB Mozambique sign MoU to empower youth through internship program

October 1st, 2024, Maputo, Mozambique – The MozYouth Foundation continues its mission of empowering Mozambican youth by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with FNB Mozambique, one of its founding partners. This collaboration will place 15 interns across FNB branches in eight provinces, offering young people valuable experience in the banking sector.

The signing ceremony, held on October 1st, 2024, brought together representatives from
both MozYouth and FNB Mozambique, as well as some of the interns who will benefit from
the program. Pedro Santos, Managing Director of MozYouth Foundation, and Melba
Nhamitambo, Head of Human Capital at FNB Moçambique, signed the MoU, alongside Odílio
Biosse, Head of Legal Department at FNB Moçambique.

During the ceremony, Melba Nhamitambo highlighted FNB’s commitment to developing young talent: “Our hope is that these interns will become part of the FNB family. This program gives them the skills and experience they need, but more importantly, it brings brilliant minds into our organization, and we believe they will contribute greatly to our success.”

Pedro Santos expressed gratitude for FNB’s strong support, emphasizing the significance of this opportunity for young Mozambicans: “This is a unique opportunity for 15 young people to join FNB branches across the country. Our hope is that you prove your value and that by the end of the internship, FNB will want to keep you.”

This partnership will provide interns with hands-on experience, enhancing their employability and equipping them with the skills necessary for long-term success. The program will span provinces including Maputo, Nampula, Tete, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala, Manica, and Cabo Delgado, reflecting both organizations’ commitment to youth development across Mozambique.

The MozYouth Foundation, originally launched in 2018 as Beleluane Joba, continues to
expand its reach and impact. With partners like FNB Mozambique, it remains dedicated to empowering the country’s youth through internships, education, and entrepreneurship, creating lasting positive change in society.
