Mozambique: Healthcare professionals accuse govt of masking medicine shortage
MozTech, the Mozambique Information and Communication Technologies Fair, takes place on 9, 10 and 11 May in Maputo
On May 9, 10 and 11, the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre in Maputo hosts the fifth edition of MozTech, under the theme “Building a Hyper-connected Knowledge Society”.
MozTech is Mozambique’s largest information and communication technology fair and aims to foster technology culture as a pillar of the country’s economic growth and development by creating a space for debate, interaction and exchange of experiences between different sectors of activity. It also aims to offer Mozambicans an ever-renewed look at the future.
This edition will present a series of conferences addressing different technologies and how to use them to boost the country’s competitiveness and development.
MozTech will be attended by Carlos Mesquita, Minister of Transport and Communications, Leda Hugo, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Higher Education and Professional Technician, and Marie Andersson de Frutos, Ambassador of Sweden in Maputo.
The fifth edition of Moztech once again brings together the main players in the sector, and several national and international speakers have already confirmed their presence, among them Nuno Cepeda (Novabase), Esselina Macome (FSD Moc) , Stuart Michie (ABB South Africa), Luís Miguel Silva (Altice Labs Portugal), Alcido Nguenha (Seacom), Amrith Nawoor, Oracle Coporation, Jorge Octávio (Millennium bim), Nelson Rodrigues (UNICEF) and others.
In addition to the conferences planned over the three days, 10-minute “Tech Talks” will present the latest ideas: innovation labs in the format “MozTech Lab”, presenting technological solutions of high economic or social impact; the “MozTech Exhibition” with exhibition stands with a varied range of services and products from the biggest players in the market; and a prize-giving gala, the “MozTech Awards”, which aim to distinguish initiatives of particular merit in the IT area.
MozTech Exhibition – This space has individual stands where companies can display their technology solutions for products and services from different sectors of activity (media, banking, mobile communications, hardware, software, etc.).
MozTech Conferences – In this space, specialists meet to discuss ideas and propose solutions on the universe of information and communication technologies. Topics such as adaptation of technologies, legislation, production, consumption, infrastructure and inclusion are discussed.
MozTech Talks – 10-minute where industrialists, specialists, entrepreneurs and students can take the stage and defend a brilliant or simply irreverent idea. The aim is to spark new thinking and to circulate “out-of-the-box” perspectives on the world we live in.
MozTech Lab – This space functions as a laboratory where renowned experts, brands, companies or academics present technological solutions of high economic or social impact. The latest trends that make Mozambique vibrant.
MozTech TV – A dedicated TV channel that will broadcast internally and online from a small studio within the exhibition. All conferences and TechTalks will be recorded and broadcast on this channel.
MozTech Awards – The event culminates in a glamourous gala ceremony where merit initiatives in the field of technology will be awarded.
