State-owned Mozambican Television is to launch an international channel in Maputo on Friday, director of television programs in Mozambique Herculano Thumbo confirmed in this morning’s Radio Mozambique program Café da Manhã.
Thumbo outlined the objectives of TVM Internacional, which include round-the-clock transmission of general content, including news, cultural, sports and entertainment programmes.
“The first objective is to spread the social, political, cultural and sporting reality of Mozambique across our borders. The second objective is to present a diversified but identifiable presentation imbued with the spirit of Mozambique, and the third and last is to provide a television service with a high level of informative quality on topics of the country,” Thumbo said.
In its first phase, the international channel will only be available to viewers using the subscription system (DSTV, ZAP, Startime, TVcabo and others).
