Mozambique: Government admits gas stations' difficulties in obtaining bank guarantees

The President of Mozambique said it is imperative to explore the existing mineral resources in the country in a rational way and to provide positive returns both for present and future generations, Mozambican news agency AIM reported.
Filipe Nyusi, who was speaking at the investiture of Leticia’ Silva Klemens as Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, said that the exploration of these resources must occur with strict compliance with environmental regulations and ensuring their sustainability.
“We hope to ensure the implementation of government policy in geological research and exploration of mineral and energy resources, and the development and expansion of infrastructure to supply electricity, natural gas and petroleum products,” the Head of State said addressing the new minister.
Until her appointment, Leticia da Silva Klemenswas President of the General Assembly of Millennium bim bank and president of the Mozambican Association of Business Women and Entrepreneurs.
The new minister replaces Pedro Couto who was nominated Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cahora Bassa Hydroelectric Facility.
