Mozambique Elections: Forquilha calls for transparent recount of votes - AIM
Notícias / President Filipe Nyusi of Mozambique as outgoing chairperson of the SADC Troika Organ on Politics Defence and Security
As Mozambique prepares to participate in the thirty-sixth SADC Heads of State summit in Swaziland, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Baloi, has assured journalists that the political and military tension in Mozambique will not be on the agenda in Mbabane.
Baloi says that the organisation has been kept informed on what is happening in Mozambique.
“Our country has kept both the SADC and the African Union informed. We do not expect them to question us; we have taken the initiative to report what is happening, what we are doing, and the problems we have,” Baloi said.
The minister went on to give more reasons why the country is not on the agenda, despite the situation of political and military conflict.
“When they ask what kind of help we want them to give us, we have been responding. For this reason, there has not yet been a need to include the subject of Mozambique on the SADC agenda, because they are fully informed and are following events. “
Mozambique vacates the chairmanship of the SADC Defence and Security Policy organ at this summit, with affairs in several member countries still to be resolved.
