Here is the full PR statement.
“We take pride and emotion in the qualification of Paulo Oliveira, a Mozambican motor sport driver, for the Dakar 2021 Rally, which will take place in the desert of Saudi Arabia, in the Middle East.
The qualification of Paulo Oliveira, during his participation in the Rally de Andalucía Dakar Series, represents an indelible milestone that positions Mozambique, for the first time, in the largest world motorsports competition.
Travelling 1,200 kilometres, divided into five stages, in 15 hours and 17 minutes, on winding trails in almost impassable terrain, alongside the main riders of the sport, Mozambican Paulo Oliveira was able to show that, with firmness and determination, it is possible to overcome all obstacles on the way to sure victory.
I use this opportunity to invite all Mozambicans to come together as a nation, wishing the Mozambican driver success, in the phases that follow the biggest world race in motorsport.
Please focus the hope of all of us to see the Mozambican flag raised on the day of the final qualification into a reality!
Thanks to Paulo Oliveira!
Thanks to Mozambican sports!
