Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Baloi, yesterday criticised yesterday the supposed complicit silence of countries and national and international organisations when faced with the alleged crimes committed by Renamo, the main opposition party, reports Lusa.
“What is most worrying is the complicit silence, the silence of countries, of organisations, both inside and outside the country, who do not condemn these Renamo activities,” Baloi said in an interview with public broadcaster Radio Moçambique.
Condemning the “crime, murder and theft” allegedly perpetrated by the Mozambican National Resistance (Renamo) would not necessarily signify agreement with the government, but would indicate that there are other ways to resolve political differences, he said.
Referring to the political and military crisis in Mozambique, Baloi said that the Mozambican government values all ideas aimed at bringing peace to the country, regardless of their origin.
