Mozambican athlete Edmilsa Governo has qualified for the finals of the T 12 400-metres in the Rio Paralympics, having finished second behind the Ukrainian competitor in the semis with the third-best time – 54.94 seconds – in the series.
On Saturday, Edmilsa will contest the final with three other athletes, most notably Cuban competitor Omara Durand, who qualified for the final with a new world record time of 52.90 seconds.
Despite the strong competition, Governo has every chance of winning a medal in the final.
