The Ministry of National Defence will recruit 15,000 young people into the armed forces from the 214,909 identified as eligible for service by this year’s military census, it was announced in Maputo on Friday ( April 15).
This was announced at the Second National Seminar on Organization and Operation of the Provincial Recruitment and Mobilization Centres. tat took place in Maputo last week.
The selection will take place in August and September, and three intakes are expected.
In debates on the matter, participants addressed coordination with the Ministry of Health over the integration of doctors to assess disabilities in the inspection process. The need to incorporate young people from right across the country as a way of consolidating and strengthening national unity was also highlighted.
