Mozambique’s Alcinda Panguana bows out of the Olympics after defat against China’s Yang Liu

The sixth day of the Olympic Games in Paris, France, was marked by the elimination of Mozambican athlete Alcinda Panguana.
Pangana was defeated 5-0 by world champion Yang Liu in the round of 16 of the 66 kg category, the five judges declaring the Chinese boxer the winner.
In the first round of the contest, every member of the jury awarded Yang Liu ( gold medallist a the IBA Women’s Boxing World Championships 2023 ) 10 points.
Panguana was eliminated by a 5-0 unanimous decision, ending her first Olympic Games participation.
Also yesterday, in the other fight involving a boxer from the PALOPs, Cape Verdean Ivanuza Morreira lost to Belgian Oshin Derieuw 3-2.
