Saif Arif , the son of businessman Arif Judje, had been only six days in captivity when he was released by his kidnappers on Wednesday. Details of his release are scarce, but the known fact is that he returned home “safe and sound.”
This release joins the unusual case that occurred in the city of Beira of Mustafa Raza, where a citizen of Pakistani nationality was mistaken for his boss. Mustafa was freed 24 hours after his abduction by three individuals, who came to realise that he was not their target after all and put him in a taxi home.

Still related to kidnappings, the owner of the Atlânticos warehouses, Mohammed Hussein Calú, kidnapped on January 20, 2024, was released a few days ago by his kidnappers, while in the city of Chimoio, provincial capital of Manica, an electronic currency trader yesterday escaped after the vehicle used for his abduction overturned on the EN6.
On Wednesday (13-03), Minister of the Interior Pascoal Ronda revealed that 42 individuals had been arrested in connection with kidnapping recently.
Additionally, with the review and approval of the PRM Law, a new investigation unit called the RIC, which will dedicate itself to organised crime such as kidnapping, terrorism and other complex legal offences, could be formed.
