Reconstruction work on the bridge over the Lua-Lua River in Derre district, Zambézia province, is now 28% complete.
Completion of the project, which is financed by the Roads Fund, is scheduled for the second half of next year.
The foundations of the pillar are now in place, and the process of placing the pillars is expected to be completed before the next rainy season and its attendant increase in river flow.
The bridge was destroyed by Cyclone Gombe in March, 2022.
The new bridge, 182 metres long and five metres wide, will facilitate traffic between the districts of Derre, Mocuba, Milange, Morrumbala and Nicoadala.
