In Maputo province, rehabilitation and expansion works on the Malhampsene/Tchumene junction on National Highway Number Four (N4) between Mozambique and South Africa will resume next week.
Works on the nine-kilometre stretch were halted to allow for a greater flow of vehicles and to make traffic more flexible during the festive period.
The work, estimated at more than one billion, six hundred million meticais, consists of expanding the carriageways in a section prone to congestion during rush hours.
Without setting a new deadline for completion, works director Fenias Mazive at Trans African Concession (TRAC), the N4 concessionaire, said that some areas provisionally opened have already been completed.
Mazive also said that, within a few days, he would meet with all parties involved in the project to discuss the new completion deadline.
