Maputo: "Recapture of jail escapees from prisons proceeding at a good pace"

The wife of businessman Américo Sebastião, who was kidnapped in 2016 in the the Mozambican province of Sofala, has called for the country’s president Filipe Nyusi to take firm action in order to find him.
Salomé Sebastião also called in a letter which Lusa had access to on Wesdnesday for Portugal’s president Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to carry out a personal and institutional intervention together with his Mozambican counterpart.
“If the highest representative of Mozambique has not got the power to resolve this case, then a whole nation will be shaken to its foundations,” Ms Sebastião, whose husband has been missing since July 26, 2016, said.
She called for “compassion and humility” and said no answers leading to the resolution of this case had been found.
