President of the Republic Filipe Nyusi spoke just moments ago regarding the latest terrorist attack on the town of Palma in Cabo Delgado, Sala da Paz reports.
President Nyusi said that the attack on Palma was not necessarily the biggest recorded “of so many others we have had”. though it it had that “impact” of having occurred “in an area in the periphery of the projects underway in the province”. The President appealed for calm.
“Our appeal is simple.Let us not lose focus. Let us not become muddled. We will tackle the enemy as we have been, with some forcefulness, as our Defence and Security Forces (FDS) have been doing. Absence of focus is what our internal and external enemies want, so we have to focus, embrace each other and move forward. And we have been accompanying, second by second, the job that young people on the ground are doing,,” the Mozambican head of state said at the opening ceremony of a new National Social Security Institute (INSS) facility in Ponta do Ouro, Matutuine district, Maputo province.
