Mozambique: Rehabilitation of “Josina Machel” begins

Water supply service may be restricted, from today onwards, in the cities of Maputo, Matola and in Boane district, due to maintenance work at the Umbelúzi Water Treatment Station , namely washing and disinfection.
Cleaning is being carried out in the distribution centers of Boane, Belo Horizonte, Matola-Rio, Matola, Tsalala, Machava, Lhamankulo, Maxaquene and Laulane, in the province and city of Maputo.
In a statement, the company Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdRMM notes that this action is carried out in compliance with the Water Supply Infrastructure Maintenance Plan, between May 8th and July 3rd.
Because the works may impact the normal functioning of the water supply services to the cities of Maputo, Matola an the town of Boane, AdRMM asks for the understanding of all customers.
AdRMM advises its customers to use wastewater cautiously. However, the company concomitantly recommends that customers proceed with washing their water tanks, in order to ensure the continuity of the quality of served water.
