A few days ago, Michel Ussene, a Mozambican entrepreneur and leader of the well-known UXENE Smart City project, was the winner of a poll to distinguish a “Young Business Leader of the Year in Africa”. The process was conducted by the renowned, African Leadership Magazine (ALM), based in the United Kingdom. This year, the publication considered 18 categories, including, entrepreneurs, and members of African governments, companies, managers, young people, women leaders, brands, and others.
As an international reference, the UXENE Smart City project served as a pillar for the voters’ evaluation, namely the fact that it aims to develop an innovative and unique project for Africa that will have a direct impact on the life of the population, economy, and politics of that region of Mozambique.
“Mozambique is on the right track. This award only highlights the idea we have for UXENE Smart City which is a reference in the African continent and in the world. This project is in the district of Marracune, Maputo Province, but its implementation and its development is the responsibility belongs to all of us. Mozambique should be a reference in the world, for several reasons. Besides natural resources, human resources are also a fundamental basis for economic, social, and financial success,” said Michel Ussene.
The winners of this vote will receive their diplomas during the 8th African Summit, to be held on the 11th of July 2023 in the UK’s House of Lords.
