The US government has disbursed $400,000 (€354,000) to increase the capacity of institutions that judge electoral disputes in Mozambique, according to the US embassy in Maputo in a press release.
The initiative, with a two-year period, will be implemented in partnership with the Civil Society Support Mechanism (MASC), which will train district judges and prosecutors, in partnerships with the Association of Mozambican Jurists and the Legal and Judicial Training Centre, the statement said.
“The project will also involve citizens, political parties and civil society stakeholders through training seminars, dialogue platforms, virtual electronic documentation and legal support services,” the note said.
