Mozambique rose nine places in the July update of the FIFA rankings, rising from 106th to 97th position with 336 points against the 326 they had in June.
Mozambique is one of the top improvers on the African continent in this update. The Cameroon national team, which recently played in the Confederations Cup in Russia, dropped four positions from 32nd to 36th place, with 738 points against the 811 they had in June.
The best-placed African team is Senegal, which remains in 27th place with 831 points.
Germany took first place in the ranking with 1609 points on the back of their recent win in the Confederations Cup, replacing Brazil who fell to second with 1603. Argentina occupies third place with 1413., and Portugal went from seventh to fourth place with 1332, while Chile did the opposite with 1250. Belgium, with 1194 completes the FIFA Top 10. The next update is scheduled for August.
