Mozambique: Government decrees three days of national mourning for Pope Francis

Mozambique’s Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugi Talapa, and the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation of the United Arab Emirates, Abdulrahaman Al Awaro, on Monday, July 10th, signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of workforce migration.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Margarida Adamugi Talapa, travelled to the UAE for the purpose.
The memorandum of understanding aims to ensure that Mozambicans working in the United Arab Emirates do so in accordance with the principles of transparency, ethical recruitment, equity and reciprocity of benefits.
The instrument also has the objective of strengthening the regulations of the parties, with a view to combating human trafficking and regulating private employment agencies, in order to impose fair and transparent recruitment practices in their respective jurisdiction and the compliance of all stakeholders in the process of recruiting Mozambicans to work in the UAE in accordance with the rule of law.
The migration of Mozambicans workers to the United Arab Emirates will imply the creation of the United Arab Emirates Labour Administration Services to assist and manage national workers in that country.
