Mozambique: Cyclone Jude knocks out electricity for over 270,000 in Nampula

Unknown assailants on Wednesday morning shot dead two individuals in the region of Manduca, in Infulene neighborhood, in the southern Mozambican Municipality of Matola.
According to eyewitnesses, the victims were driving a Toyota Auris when they were intercepted by three vehicles, a Nissan Juke and two Toyota Ractis. The occupants of the vehicles in pursuit blocked the victims’ car and fired at them. The two men died at the crime scene as a result of the gunfire.
During the attack, a woman was also hit by a stray bullet and taken urgently to hospital.
The country’s National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) went to the scene to investigate and determine the circumstances of the crime.
Last June, a senior police officer was shot dead in the same circumstances in Nkobe neighbourhood, also Matola municipality.
