“Near-death experience”: Armed robbers attack Catholic sisters’ home for girls in Mozambique

Two people lost their lives early of Sunday (04-05) on National Highway Number 4 (EN4) in Moamba district, Maputo province.
The accident involved a collision between a minibus and a goods vehicle parked on the side of the road, which was hit from behind by the minibus travelling at excessive speed, killing the driver and a passenger, the only occupants of the semi-public transport vehicle.
According to the Traffic Police (PT) who inspected the scene, the accident was caused by excessive speed, especially on a road signposted as under construction, where drivers are required to give way and change lanes to give priority to oncoming traffic.
Also this weekend, a traffic accident occurred at the third roundabout on the Maputo ring road, seriously injuring two vehicle occupants and causing significant material damage.
