Mozambique: Mondlane files complaint with PGR about attacks on supporters

Twelve-month inflation in Mozambique fell again in September to 4.63%, according to data released on Wednesday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), renewing lows of more than a year and a half.
This is the sixth month in a row that year-on-year inflation has fallen, and is now 0.30 percentage points less than the previous month, to lows reached in January 2021, according to the INE’s record.
“The data for the month under review, when compared to the same period in 2022, indicate that the country recorded a price increase of around 4.63%.
The Miscellaneous Goods and Services and Education divisions were the ones with the biggest price rises, varying by 17.60% and 14.12% respectively,” INE said.
Prices in Mozambique have risen by 2.44% since the beginning of 2023 and average monthly inflation over the last 12 months fell in September to 8.65%, according to INE.
