Mozambique | TSU: October salary payment to be completed this Tuesday

The Ministry of Economy and Finance expects to conclude the payment of salaries of state employees and agents for the month of October, as determined by the Single Salary Table (TSU), by the end of this Tuesday, November 1.
A communique issued by the ministry states that more than 281,000 employees (corresponding to 82% of those covered) had already been paid by Monday (31-10) afternoon.
The document explains that there was a delay in the payment process of one day, due to delays in verification and compliance by some sectors and the need to correct some sheets.
The ministry said that the implementation of the new model will have a budgetary impact of 9.2 billion meticais in the first six months.
The new state salary matrix has 21 levels, varying from 8,756 to 165,758 meticais, instead of the 103 levels previously.
The Single Salary Table recently approved by the Assembly of the Republic has been generating discontent among teachers and doctors, who say they do not agree with its revision, as it does not correspond to the wishes they presented to the government.
