A lorry which skidded off National Highway Number 4 (EN4) destroyed a public lighting pole, a medium-voltage electricity pole and the wall of a company premises, Miramar reported this Thursday.
The vehicle was traveling along the EN4 towards South Africa and passing the military barracks close to the Texlon cemetery in Matola municipality when it left its lane and veered into oncoming traffic.
The driver says that the drizzle falling at night had made the road slippery, a situation exacerbated by a tanker truck which had previously spilled lubricants and fuel on the road.
