Road traffic in downtown Maputo (Baixa) will be restricted from tomorrow, September 25, until December 20 to allow for drainage system rehabilitation works.
The Maputo City Council, through the Maputo Urban Transformation Project (PTUM), has announced that traffic will be restricted on Albert Luthuli Avenue, specifically in the left-hand lane heading towards 25 de Setembro Avenue, between 24 de Julho and Josina Machel Avenues.
As an alternative, motorists may use the section between 24 de Julho and Guerra Popular Avenues.
“During this period, a traffic management plan will be implemented with the support of traffic control officers. Road users are advised to pay close attention to the temporary signage being installed,” reads a statement from the Maputo Municipality.
