Vehicle traffic on the Muandá river bridge along the N13 road between Mandimba and
Cuamba in Niassa province restarted yesterday.
A statement issued by the National Road Administration (ANE) today notes that the
resumption of normal traffic on this section will facilitate the flow of goods and the
movement of people along the corridor connecting the provinces of Niassa and Nampula.
The road had been closed due to damage caused by Cyclone Freddy, which struck the
country in 2022, particularly affecting the northern region.
Emergency works were carried out to restore accessibility, including repairs and
maintenance of bridges and pavements over a 500-metre section of road crossing the
Muandá river basin.
