Mozambique’s Traffic Police this Friday launched an intensive inspection campaign for trucks carrying various loads on National Highway Number Four (N4) in Maputo province.
The initiative is part of actions aimed at reducing truck congestion and traffic accidents on the road, and also aims to make truck drivers aware of the need to carry out their transport activities within legal parameters.
The campaign, which could last until next year, and may cover other types of vehicles, also aims to reduce the congestion that persists in some sections of the N4.
The spokesperson for the Traffic Police at the Maputo Provincial Command, Rodrigues Chabana, said the first phase of the campaign would take place in the Pessene area of Moamba district.
