Mozambique: Prosecutor accuses Mondlane of premeditation and admits to reviewing coercive measures

Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) today awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to the then President of the People’s Republic of Mozambique, Samora Moisés Machel. The ceremony is part of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of National Independence and is a moment of tribute to the historical, political and humanist legacy of the first President of independent Mozambique.
According to the press release from the Presidency of the Republic, “the awarding of this honorary title by Eduardo Mondlane University aims to recognize, in an academic and institutional manner, the invaluable contribution of Samora Moisés Machel to the affirmation of the Mozambican State, the promotion of social justice and the valorization of education and science as pillars of national development”.
