Mozambique to create three million jobs in five years – PQG

Within the next few days, the government of Mozambique will present to parliament its proposed Five Year Plan [PQG], a strategy focusing on the creation of three million jobs.
The plan “aims to adopt a more diversified economy, identifying competitive sectors with the potential to increase income generation and job creation for young people,” Council of Ministers spokesman Filimão Suaze on Tuesday (03-03) after the cabinet meeting in Maputo.
To facilitate execution of the plan, the Council of Ministers has created the State Secretariat for Youth and Employment, a new entity for the mandate which began in January after the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique (Frelimo) victory in last October’s elections and the inauguration as president of its candidate, Filipe Nyusi.
“Three million jobs are expected, and conditions for this number to be reached exist,” Suaze noted, adding that the document was almost ready.
Suaze also highlighted the maintenance of peace as a component of the new strategy.
