Mozambique will conduct a survey of the country’s thermal and mineral waters, the government announced today.
The intention is expressed in a notice published in the Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias to recruit a consultant, a process that will take place over the next ten days.
The objective is to “summarize all available material on known hot and mineral springs and develop a plan of action for their assessment”.
The consultant is also to “assist and train the staff of the National Institute of Mines (INAMI)”, as well as “supervise the laboratory analysis process” and “compile a brochure” on the subject.
The survey results from funding from the World Bank and other donors for the Technical Assistance Project for Gas and Mines, which also covers thermal and mineral waters.
The process is led by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy.
