Mozambique: Manica province issues four forestry licenses in Q1

The Theileriosis (‘East Coast fever’) cattle disease outbreak that affected the Bilene district of Gaza province last July has been controlled. The disease caused the death of more than two dozen cattle, according to data collected by ‘Notícias Online’ from the District Service of Economic Activities (SDAE).
The director of the SDAE in Bilene, Gracinda Carlos, who confirmed the incident, did not elaborate on the actions his department had taken.
According to SDAE data, Bilene district has a cattle population of 15,000.
Theileriosis, also known as East Coast fever, is a tick-borne disease that affects cattle and other cloven-hoofed ruminants, causing significant economic losses in Africa and other parts of the world.
